As a bit of research and for fun I'd suggest watching The Tudors mini series. It's fairly accurate most of the time, although Jonathan Rhys Meyers never put on the 'fat suit' as Henry and they're pretty casual about the ages of the children. Mary was far older than she's portrayed at the time of Henry's death. If anyone needed a spanking it was Katherine Howard, whose life may have been saved by a few good old fashioned spankings.

I can recommend "The Young Elizabeth" by Alison Weir. Recently published but now in paperback. It has the bedroom scenes between "The Admiral" (Tom Seymour) and the future queen. Not a lot of spanking but a good read.

Most of Alison Weir's stuff is pretty good. She also did a good book on Lady Jane Grey as well.
