Njrick's "Six of the Best" Challenge - Round 5: "More Than Just Stories"

This one will operate under the same rules as previous rounds (6 nominations by a post-er from 6 different authors; one self-plugged item allowed; give title, author, and brief description, preferably with length and orientation), except that at least 3 of the six items must be forms OTHER than stories (or series). More specifically:

a) At least one must be a poem
b) At least one must be a song (not necessarily a recorded song in the LSF Jukebox)
c) At least one must be something else (play, letter, snippet, article, or "other")

The other three items submitted CAN be stories, but I encourage participants to offer as many non-stories as they can.

Anyone who has not yet participated in the previous 4 rounds (#1 no theme, and #2 "Humor," both on the original thread, #3 "Christmas" in its own thread, or #4 "Sci-Fi and Fantasy," also in its own thread) is still permitted to do so, and anyone is permitted to participate in Round 5 without having participated in rounds 1, 2, 3 or 4.

A college girl spends the summer with her cousin and they have a disagreement over what kind of swim suit she should wear.

Okay, I'll take a stab at it:

1) Extra Long Story - "Tattletale" by Goodgulf - 17,901 words. Girl likes to pretend to be her mother and tattletale to other parents on what she sees their kids doing so they'll get spanked. Payback is a bitch.

2) Quirky - "Silver Birch" by Geoffrey Stirling. A birch tree outside the window of a girl's boarding school tries to make sense of what it sees happening inside.

3) Poem - "Kitchen Capers" by Jennifer Pearson. A losing encounter against Mom's wooden spoon. Picked this one totally at random because Jennifer has a number of other poems about her upbringing (I can't remember if she had one or two sisters but her Mom's right arm stayed busy).

4) Play - "An Evening at the Empire" by opb. Old-timey music hall performance with a certain theme...

5) Song - "I Felt Her Butt Squirm" by Don A. Landhill. Parody of "I Feel the Earth Move" by Carole King. Again, you can't go wrong with Don's song lyrics; he's got over 50 of them.

6) Shameless Self-Promotion - "Humans Don't Make Sense to Me" by Yours Truly. Cat has his own take on what happens to his owner.

All right, here are my selections for this "Six of the Best" Challenge:

Song: "On Her Knee," written and performed by opb, F/M, moderate length

Sung to the tune of the classic Beatles hit "Let It Be," this song reflects the experience of a male who is regularly spanked by his feminine partner.

Play: "Saturday Night Poker Game" by sfOldBoy, FFFF/MMmm, moderate length

A mother who spanks her late-teenage son recommends, with a full demonstration, that three of her poker-playing girlfriends do the same to their similarly-aged sons--which they all eventually agree to try, with gratifying results for the ladies.

Snippet: "The Birthday Spanking That Wasn't Fun" by Hairbrushedhubby, F/M, very short

A man finally receives the birthday spanking he's always desired from his wife, only to have her throw in an unexpected 'twist' which he clearly doesn't want. (This is quite extreme even from my perspective, but after all it's purely a fantasy.)

Poem: "Daydreaming Boy" by Bendover, F/b, short

This describes the predictable pants-down, fanny-whacking consequences a preteen boy receives from his paddle-wielding teacher for failure to pay attention in her classroom--however, there is a sweet 'twist' at the end.

Letter: "Letter to Spanking Parents" by Paris Annette Morreau, F/b, M/g implied, moderate length

The mother of a regularly-spanked and usually well-behaved twelve-year-old boy describes how she ended up semipublicly spanking him at her workplace, during a 'bring your child to work' day there.

Article: "Spanking Artist: RedRump," from 'Wellred Weekly,' Volume 1, Number 1, fairly short

The primary attraction in this interview, for myself anyway, is the several examples of RedRump's excellent F/M artwork which it features. (Sadly though, he seems to have stopped producing such drawings, something he believed wouldn't happen at the time this article was posted.)

Song - Uptown spank by Rick Marlowe

Apart from the obvious confusion in the minds of those of us who are not up with contemporary music trends and thought this was a Billy Joel parody, this is based on much harder material to work with, and contains the excellent line "Julio! Get the strap!"

Epistolary series - A Victorian Adventure by The English Master

At 86,000 words this is a bit of an epic, but this gender-swapping story set in Victorian public schools has plenty to recommend it, not the least Lydia, the very loveable protagonist. It is told as a series of letters between the characters, a common enough form in genuine Victorian erotica.

Poem, and shameless self-plug - Carla Sian by opb

This parody of Xanadu (the Coleridge poem, not the Olivia Netwon John song) was made to feed the fetish of powder blue panties by certain members of the spanko fraternity.

Article - The Six Spanking plots by Flogmaster

Here the prolific author attempts to categorise the main reason why someone might end up being spanked in a story and ends with a call for authors to exercise their creativity. Co-incidentally in a Miss Thrashbottom-worthy second act of self-plugging there is here in the LSF a series of limericks detailing the Six Heroines of Spanking Fiction inspired by this piece.

Not sure - Masturbatrix by Gail

This is a first person piece digging into the way our minds work when indulging in the particular self-pleasure within our genre. I am not sure how to categorise it (have a go at this one Flogmaster) but I am sure that it is not fiction.

Snippet - It Came From Above by Fulgur

This is not really a snippet but a very short story, told in two acts. To describe more would it would probably spoil it, but it does show how efficiently a story can be created.

Here's my pick six for this round:

Poem: All Aboard by Jennifer Pearson (F/f)
I thought this was very cleverly done, in the style of an internet review of a vacation destination (spoiler - she gives a negative review).

Article (although listed as a story): Medical Journal by HBrushed (MF/mfF)
This article originally appeared in Bared Affair issue 3.03 as a purely F/f item but was repurposed and slightly altered for the LSF. The original was more of a report from a symposium while the LSF version was written in the style of an article about diagnosis of "Post Spanking Syndrome".

Song: Oh What A Beautiful Bottom (two versions, one by Don A. Landhill and one by opb)
There are a few Rodgers and Hammerstein numbers in the LSF but this sendup of the opening song from "Oklahoma" holds the distinction of having been so honored twice.

News (although listed as a story): Poor Report Card by Smuccatelli (F/F)
A takeoff on the old "Mom, I'm running away from home" story, with a letter from the girl detailing the stuff of parental nightmares, only to be closed with a postscript confessing the truth and asking for the mother to have some perspective. Mom is not amused. (Note: I am sure I have seen a version of this story with a "counter-letter" left by the mother for the daughter to find. In the end, both stories end the same for the girl with poor marks.)

An internal monologue of a girl anxiously awaiting her father as things go from bad to worse to horrid.

Story (Theme and Variations): Or... by JuanOneOne (F/f)
JuanOneOne always had a knack for telling stories involving adult women who were definitely unbalanced, usually with painful results for the young ladies in their care. This is the author's masterpiece, offering seven different insane reasons for a mother to thrash her poor daughter for bringing home a nearly-perfect report card.
