I don't ever look at comments before reading a story because I don't want anything to colour my enjoyment or understanding of what I am about to read. I also try to form my comment before reading the comments given by others. Because I am very insecure about making comments, when I have written one and read that others have said the same thing, I always feel validated that someone else thought as I did, but really bad that I haven't come up with something more original or intelligent to say. Commenting is very nervewracking for me, but I am more scared of Febs and Flopsy, so I comment.
