There are of course a great many factors that determine the speed at which a website will load in your browser but in general this site should load and respond as fast as any other. However, I have today discovered that someone who was using AVG anti-virus and who had (without their knowledge) got something called AVG Safe Search installed as an add-on into their Firefox browser was experiencing extremely slow loading and response times. However, as soon as this add-on was disabled the site once again responded instantly.
At one time AVG was the free anti-virus of choice for many people but my experience of the latest release is that it is something of a pc crippler. Anyway, I just wanted to alert anyone that was experiencing VERY slow response times from the site that this could very well be the cause. |
