I immediately thought of the gentleman's clubs of St James, where according to John Le Carré, Old Etonian civil servants go to get away from their wives and eat boiled cabbage and Spotted Dick like they were served at school.

Sure it does! It's on the second floor of the Library itself, in the back, just down the hallway past Miss Thrashbottom's office. It has a lovely view, overlooking the garden. No one much shows up there before 4pm, so stop by earlier if you enjoy peace and quiet, later if you prefer conversation. Can I expect to see you there?
