Nice little twist at the end, but given your profile information I can't help wondering if it was at least slightly autobiographical... A nice first story; welcome to the site.

Welcome to the LSF, by far the greatest library the world has ever seen! I like your blog and your poetic username, and if this first story's as good as its title, I'm sure to like that as well.

Thank you all so much for the welcome. We were delighted to have had some good feedback to my story. (Yes, an autobiographical element, very astute!) Some of my other stories have been longer, and really need some editing down. I'd be a little nervous to share them right now, but will definitely add more in due course.

Thanks again - happy to be off to a positive start.
