We originally included both fan fiction and parody as "document types" along with the likes of "story", "serial", "poem" etc. This was because we wanted to be able to identify these to readers who might have had a specific interest in these categories. Logically, however, they were not actual document types but at the time there was no other way of identifying them. Now that we have introduced the sub-genre classification and are in the process of assigning sub-genres to the library contents we have been able to remove both "fan fiction" and "parody" as document types. Readers looking for these can now do so via the Browse facility (found by clicking the Latest button) and selecting the appropriate bookcase shelf. |
