Great Spanking Anthology finally completed

A little over 470,000 words later the Great Spanking Anthology is finally complete. I don't know whose idea it was but when I catch up with them I'll be carrying a steel baseball bat!

I want to commend everyone involved on the completion of this magnificent project. Great job!

Congrats to the Anthology team - this was really innovative and no small task !

As a matter if interest, how were the stories selected for the different anthologies ? is there a logical grouping ?

Depends on how you define logical

Firstly I grouped them all in alphabetical order of author's name (pen names weren't used at this stage). Then I shuffled a few around to try and get a similar word count in each volume of 30. Then, 3/4s of the way through decided it might be a neat idea to make one of the volumes F/M stories only. That screwed things up somewhat as stories got moved about or we changed the story we'd selected for a particular author so that we could get more F/M stories. Then a couple of stories had to be removed as they featured under-18-year olds, and we didn't want to incur the wrath of Amazon. Then a story had to be removed from one of the volumes as I'd moved it to the F/M volume but had forgotten to remove it from where it came from. Then there were a few general screw ups and some more reshuffling. Bet you wish you hadn't asked now...

While I'm rambling incoherently, if anyone wants to know the selection criteria for the sampler volume it was to try and get 2 stories from each of the first 5 volumes that had roughly 2,500 words.

I also have to say that overall I underestimated the total amount of work involved by about a factor of 10...

It's a huge undertaking and just by looking through the names of the authors and the titles of the stories, many of which I remember, you have put together a compendium of spanking fiction that includes a fantastic cross section of the LSF's stable of authors.

Sounds like a perfectly logical process to me. Then again, I work for government.

I only hope you've underestimated the monetary proceeds by an equal factor.

I never knew the collective noun for authors was a stable.
So I tried my trust search just to check this out, and came up with this rather amusing post:

Thanks for the explanation, Februs. Would you mind moving my story to the top of Volume 2 rather than it being at the tail-end of Volume 1 ?

I estimated them extremely conservatively. Then again maybe we can send someone from the CSA to encourage a few purchases and a few comments on Amazon...

It's your own fault for not titling it something along the lines of 'Aardvark Spanking For Beginners...'

I can imagine being spanked with an aardvark would be awfully uncomfortable!

Februs, if it is not too much to ask, would it be possible to post a list of LSf author pseudonyms in the anthologies. Off to make my purchase! Shhh don't tell hubby!
