Limericks

We have decided to get rid of the document type for Limerick as we don't think it adds any real value. So please note that any future Limericks submitted will be loaded under the document type Poem.

aww I always make a beeline for Limericks when I see them loaded heheh! I have a limerick addiction!
But of course if removing the extra document type makes loading and categorising simpler then fair dinkum! And of course the title 'Poem' does make a limerick sound even more impressive!

Flopsy, did I make you feel bad? LOL

My limericks all went into the meter eater.

If this automatically turns us poor limerick scribblers into poets, I wholeheartedly agree!

A limerick will no longer be
a 'type', says Flopsy's decree.
You'd best not complain,
Or you'll soon feel the pain...
When she takes you over her knee!

I tried to get flopsy to spank
by writing limericks that stank
chewed up by the meter
like a mean old egg beater
Is why she now gave them a yank

One view:

Things in the LSF aren't sunny
Limericks ain't poems - they're funny!
I won't give my approval
and I protest their removal
By a certain floppy-eared bunny!

Another view:

Limericks are low forms of art
As humor they're just above farts!
Though that's not a bad thing
Too many writers are boring
Just look at Jean-Paul Sartre!

And one more view:

Aren't limericks just tasty treats?
Served over ice, or as sweets
Some may prefer spanks
or a Sauvignon blanc
But I prefer Lemon-ricks, neat.

And, finally:

I could not be more contrite
Limericks no more shall I write
From now on I'll be
A poet - that's me!
Misusing words like o'er, and completely messing up pentameters - right!

I can see by the above that Flopsy was absolutely correct in pulling off the Limericks....
