Way back when we first trialled running the site as a standalone with its own URL it was really just an experiment to see if anyone would use it. Consequently, we registered a free domain for it, initially a co.cc one and then later a .tk one. The .tk one has been fine for us but of course it gives us no control over things should the provider decide to withdraw it for whatever reason.
Choosing a paid for URL, however, was somewhat difficult as a commercial company with a similar name appears to have bought up what appears to be hundreds of similar URLs leaving us with very little indeed to choose from. I understand that commercial concerns like to protect their brand but I also think there's a limit as to how far to take that kind of thing. Anyway, in the end we have opted for:
http://www.thespankinglibrary.org/... so if you do have us bookmarked please update the URL. Similarly, if you have a link to us on your own site or blog perhaps you could do the same.
The process of changing the URL for a site such as the LSF is unfortunately not a trivial one so there may well be one or two glitches to iron out along the way. If you find something that seems to be broken with the new URL please send us an email or alternatively bung me a popup.
