Welcome aboard to a great site. Read lots, writes lots and comment more, but most important is to always remember you are here to have fun. Join in the Forum if you like, the jokes are often funny and it gives one insight into some of the characters around this place. I am off to read your first story which I am sure will fit right in with the rest of the Library.

Praise the Brotherhood! Yet another worthy author has joined our fold. As you may have guessed, I'm just back from reading your first contribution to our humble library. It's not to be missed!

I hesitate to bring this up so soon, but just in case "Dr." signifies "Doctor". I've had this nagging pain...

The closest I have ever been to a public school is probably the Billy Bunter Annual 1960. Dr Keate exists because I couldn't remember the name of the other flogging Etonian headmaster when I was in a hurry to find a user name. There's an engraving of him flogging a roomful of horsed boys.
Just let me say how brilliantly put together is your story of the Texas Paddling. Made me quite breathless. Especially the early bit about the woman observed having difficulty sitting down. That was the moment when I smelt a rat in terms of 'authenticity', but on the other hand I prefer it as fantasy. To put it mildly!

Although notorious for his floggings, from all accounts Dr Keate was incapable of keeping order amongst his pupils. A moral here??
