Anticipation is always the worst part and all being well recovery is only frustrating. Keep off the cane for a while - too energetic and might disturb things. Thinking about it though can be most therapeutic. Leave the booze to others also - you have lots of friends who will drink it on your behalf.
Very best wishes and don't forget we need you back. We are selfish!

Flopsy, I wish you all the very best and a speedy recovery, but, more importantly take care of yourself,
Ian.

Salutations, dear Flopsy. May you and your blue pencil be back in place before we have really gotten around to noticing that you have malingered off for a well earned break. And do take care of yourself.

As Twinkly said, often the waiting is harder than the procedure itself. I hope that was true in your case and that the surgery was so routine as to seem anti-climactic. Now, may your greatest difficulty lie in figuring out how to milk your recovery for all it's worth!

Salutations, dear Flopsy
And hallucinations, don 't forget the medication-induced hallucinations! They make for some great Flopsy stories.
Hope all goes well.
