looking for a magical age-regression story

I read this story years ago and can't track it down with google--hope someone recalls it and can help. Unfortunately I don't remember the title or the author but have fairly good recall on the plot. The heroine was a young woman named Samantha--Asian-American--who regretted not having been spanked as a child. She encountered a sort of fairy godparent figure who offered her the chance to relive some key moments of her childhood and accepted and woke up the next morning as a child--maybe age 6 or 8, somewhere in there. She was spanked several times--once by her mom for not getting out of bed, once by her teacher for not handing in homework, and once by her dad for getting spanked in school.
