Belsteph:
I really enjoyed the spanking at the start of the book - very well written with a real atmosphere of discipline.
But I agree with you about the rest of the book. Didn't read every word, but there appear to be mentions of spankings and lost of creepy stuff involving the stepfather.
Of course, I can only guess, but this sounds like something written by
Will Deere who had a number of pseudonyms (i.e.
Will Henry, William St Cyr, etc.) Early on he focused exclusively on family discipline and some of his works are classics (
SPANKMANSHIP, SUBURBAN SPANKING, SPANKING STEWARDESSES, MODERN SPANKING and THE HEADMASTER).
It is rumored that he penned many of the "letters" featured in mags like "Mr.". Clearly the style of these letters and the vignettes in his books are very, very similar.
He did broaden his horizon to include school, sorority and roommate discipline and once again, his descriptions of these spankings are simply wonderful.
Unfortunately, times change, people change and so did Will Deere. One never knows what caused Deere to change, but towards the end of his life he switched his focus almost exclusively to incest. (I just can't read that stuff! It's a total turnoff to me!)
It might simply be that Deere was never really into spanking, but was a talented writer who chased the $'s and early in his career the $'s were in spanking. Later, once the market was saturated, he looked for areas of "reduced competition". Again, I'm only guessing and would love to hear what others think.
