Resignation

To Februs, Flopsy et al:

I hereby tender my resignation as Shameless-Self-Plugger-in-Chief (SSPC) of the Kilahara Library of Spanking Fiction. The months I spent in this position were sometimes rewarding, and always fun. Yet now, I fear, it is time for me to move on. It's not that I have any complaints on the treatment I received, because I was always treated exactly as a shameless-self-plugger should be. In many respects, I fulfilled my position well - I was totally shameless, and I certainly plugged myself. The bottom line, though is this - a shameless-self-plugger should be effective in plugging his or her own stories, and alas, I seem to have lost my touch, if indeed I ever had one. And so, my friends, I feel I must relinquish my post as SSPC.

Do not think that my plan is to forsake the Library. Despite whatever hopes my announcement may have engendered, I fully intend to stay on in the more limited roles of compiler-of-irrelevant statistics, recurrent afflictee of writer's block, and belly-aching malcontent, at least so long as the management will have me. Nor to I have any objection to members continuing to refer to my forward exploits as a shameless self-plugger, in however laudatory or disdainful a tone, provided that it is understood that all such exploits are now purely in the past-tense. And finally, should management decide to re-fill the position of SSPC, I would be happy to offer my expertise to help screen the candidates.

Hey Rick now don't go spoiling your image buddy! I for one would miss your plugs enormously, they give me a smile just when I need it, and it does work pal as i always take off to read the aforementioned story post haste.

Your great sense of humour is part of the furniture, and I'm sure there are many others who would miss it too.

Rest assured that I don't intend to change my sense of humour. It will simply be applied, for good or for ill, to ends other than self-plugging.

As in any job one must give at least two weeks notice to leave the position so we fully expect you to fulfill your duties for at least the next two weeks. That is of course the question of whether the Administration of this Library accepts your resignation, one has to realize the Administration may insist upon a longer notice period as such a position being open has a possible large effect on the entire organization, especially when one has done such a wonderful job fulfilling the position.
