... (with it having to do with statistics and all, not to mention being premature) BUT... we're on a pace to top 4,300 comments in October.

I notice that the ratio of comments to reads has improved, at least for my own stories, from around 1 in 20 to more like 1 in 10. Whether that means I'm writing better stories or the inducement to comment more is being heeded by readers I do not know.

Gosh I hate to mention this, and likely should not in case of someone gets a swelled head on his shoulders but NJrick was not that far off considering his comment was on October 8th. We coming close to 4100 very quickly.

Well done NJrick!!!

Well done NJrick

I wasn't the one making all those comments. I was too busy posting on the Forum!

If you have a CRR (comment to read ratio) of 0.10 or 0.05 you are doing great. Mine has also improved but it went from 0.026 to about 0.029. But, that is based upon a grand total that goes back to the pre-comment days of 2009-2010. But here is what I have noticed. When it's hot off the presses the a story can have a CRR of about 10%. As time goes on that will drop, just like a hitters batting average. That's because the readers who do leave comments tend to be among the first to review a story. After that (about a week) the average begins to drop as more readers show up who never comment.

Fantastic. I for one enjoy the comments as it makes it all worth while. They surpassed everything from Dec 2009. Well done.
