Actually she's NOT always constructive and encouraging - one school story from a well-known writer she reviewed simply with the word "despicable" which I thought was strong but it did feature a punishment regime which was quite sadistic, so not inappropriate if she found it upsetting. But very few commentators would have said so, merely passed it by in silence, so it did make me think whether the story was a good one or totally OTT. Having the courage to say things the author might not like to read is valuable and rarely embarked upon.
