New Monthly Record for Comments?

I think you may be getting hard of hearing and what was actually said was "You're gonna get a sore arse. Bare ya bum."

There's really no need for any writer to go short on comments. Just send me the comment you'd like to receive (in an email or pop-up) and I'll send you an invoice with details of my Paypal account.

It looks like we've fallen far off the blistering commentary pace we started the month with. Still, with 3349 comments so far, and over six days to go, we should still be able to beat the record total of 3758. Hooray for all commenters!

That record month also likely included a big group of challenge entries to be read and commented on. But still, we continue to break records here and that can only be good.

A lot of it was the challenge. I received an overwhelming number of comments on my entries---so many in fact that I don't know how I'm going to be able to respond to them all. But I want to. I usually get back to commenters within 24 hours but that's impossible this time. Still, I'd like to issue a big thank you to everyone who took the time to write a comment. It was greatly appreciated.

I commented on several stories in the challenge but then, after noticing no other comments, I decided to comment only with my voting. Now I am wondering whether the comments are kept out sight until the final voting is closed. My thought at the time was why influence anyone else or give away the stories. So ... perhaps I'm in the dark here and just don't know quite how this works ????

Right. Authors don't know anything until it's over. We don't see reads, comments or favorites. It's all blind until results are posted. Then it's a deluge, but I can live with that.

Thank you, Pink and Rollin. Very sorry I missed out on this situation but will know better next time. At any rate, I doubt I will go back to comment on all the stories and my apologies to all the authors out there. Mea culpa ...
