4 million stories viewed

I see we are at 4 million and 30. Not sure of the exact time this happened but it is a great achievement for the site and to every member on here on helped pushed us over the mark. Congrats to the Library admins and may we see millions more stories read.

For the past 34 months, a story viewed every 22 seconds...

I wonder who has been the most read author in those 4 million views.

According to my calculations, views of my stories only make up a measly .23% of that figure.

Ah, but with 23 stories that's just .12% of the total loaded.

Flogmaster has 154K views, KatieB has 146K, while both flopsybunny and John Benson are also over 100K. It should come as no surprise, though, that Grace Brackenridge tops the list at 302K. That's 20% of the total number of views for just five authors.

The rest of of us (not just you) can feel insignificant in comparison.

So my stories are viewed by around twice as many people as most – that's encouraging!
As for my 23 stories being read by .23% of the members that's just weird.

Views are to a large degree a function of volume and timing. If you are prolific, you get more views. If your stories came through in 2010 and later, i.e., through the "front page" and "latest" list, you get more views. Everything else---comments etc., follows. There are a couple of exceptions but mostly I think that's pretty much it.
