I grew up in England during the World War 11 days. I attended a school in one of the southern counties. There one day the headmaster caught three teen-age girls smoking. I began first grade in TX in 1965, when CP was very much still in use. Most times the teacher would simply take the miscreant out to the hall, bend him or her over and paddle them. I was in elementary school late 1950s - mid-60s in the Northeastern U.S. Kids were still spanked in my school, though it was a rare occurrence and so was memorable when it did happen. But once deposited back in her seat she erupted in loud crying. The teacher, back in front of the room, looked at the class and (rather meanly) stated, "Now that's the kind of noise I like to hear."

I guess this is sort of a school spanking. I am also dating myself. I was a sophomore in collage in 1967. Yes I am an old fart. I met a girl that I actually went to high school with.
