Very quietly the venerable John Benson has become the latest author to receive one thousand "favorite" designations on his stories. Due to the qulity and quantity of his stories, it was inevitable. Congratulations to John!

The only surprise is that it took so long.

Indeed so. Since I first saw a Benson story I've hardly ever been disappointed in one

I'm just disappointed that he's not coming out with anything new (at least not here at the LSF, which is MY universe).

I can surely understand his 1,000 favorites. John is a master at his craft. Congrats to John.

A truly remarkable achievement by one of the library's most accomplished storytellers. This is, to my way of thinking, the most impressive milestone one can reach. A writer can garner large amounts of views and comments simply by being prolific and posting many stories. To get someone to add one of your works to their favorites, though, requires something special. And to have done that a thousand times over? THAT is nothing short of staggering.

He is very reclusive and I understand that he has 'retired' from writing, which is a pity as he is the most talented writer we have here. But the good news is that he has been in touch recently and donated a story of his for our forthcoming Anthology.

Well, then, if he's retired, it sounds like you need a new CURRENT "most talented writer." Are you taking applications? I have some time on my hands, since I can't seem to land that Help Desk job.

Based on that list of inspirational ideas you posted so effortlessly in the other thread, you have my vote as the most inspired writer on LSF! I would have taken eight and a half months to come up with the first half dozen of these.

To be honest, those were ideas that generated stories for me over the past few years (and several from many years ago), not ones that I effortlessly came up with today. Do I lose my "most inspired writer" status?
