The other day on Facebook(to which I employ strictly in a vanilla way) I saw where Baywatch star and top Playboy model Pamela Anderson was denouncing porn, that only "losers" used it and that it ruined or destroyed so many relationships between men and women.
Now I am not a porn fan, have no interest in watching films of people having some sort of sex with each other. But I can't help but think that she would think the same about people who enjoy and spend time on spanking sites like this one.
Now I am sure some people become obsessed with watching porn, but then you could argue that some people can get obsessed about almost anything.
And it is true that some sex workers have been the victim of exploitation or abuse. But on the other hand, rape and abuse of women was around long before the adult entertainment industry.
I thought she was overgeneralizing and being self- righteous. Some would say she was a hypocrite ,based on her past. But I do not dislike Pam, she was my favorite female character on Baywatch and it was not as good when she left after five seasons. And also I have seen that she and ex-hubby Tommy Lee supposedly engaged in some spanking activity!

I'm inclined to agree with your problem and I would not use our beloved Pamela Anderson (Canadian) an example of any kind of "Porn."

If we are the 'losers' I pity the winners.

Talking about 'losers' though, how about those who seek out breast enlargements to get parts on TV or the movies? How about those one who get facial surgery to change a few wrinkles so they don't look old to their fans? And I could go on and on and ...

No, we are not the 'losers' by any means. Not in my opinion anyway for whatever that is worth.

All in all, I think Pam is a hypocrite and a skank and if she considers anyone else a "loser" it's more a case of the pot calling the kettle black. But that's just me...

Many years ago, I worked in a comic book store. We had a porn section. (One box under the counter, that we showed to adult customers on request.) While it may not be fair for me to judge people on the basis of a brief business transaction, I would have to say that most of our customers of adult material impressed me as being nice people. We did have one such customer that I could only describe as a creep. I tried to be polite to him, but I dreaded to see him walk into the store. I don't specifically know why. There was just something about him. But I would not describe the majority of our porn customers as losers. BTW, I wasn't totally comfortable selling the stuff, so after I had been there a few months, I asked my boss if we could quit handling the material. Turns out, he wasn't comfortable selling it either, had just continued carrying it after buying the store. He agreed without any discussion.

I don't know whether its those who seek breast enlargements for whatever reason, or those who successfully sell the "product" that bigger is better when it comes to breasts. Despite all the possible health issues than can arise from things like implants.
And just as bad is the weight loss industry, Those that preach "you can never be too thin." I really think they are responsible for much of the eating disorders problem that is so prevalent today.Young women worrying incessantly about their body image rather than accepting themselves-and others- as just the way they are. Lot of wisdom in that old hippie slogan "do your own thing"- be yourself, and don't let society tell you who you have to be or do or look like. Maybe no coincidence that a lot of hippie girls tended to be amply proportioned.
A bit off the subject of whether porn is as bad as some say it is, but you made a good point.
As for "our beloved Pam" I completely agree with tamlynn. May not buy her (Pam's) argument but am still fond of her.

No we are not losers. We have recognised that we have a certain need and are doing something about it in a constructive and adult fashion, that is certainly not hurting anyone else.
One issue I do think we should worry about is whether you are taking too much notice of the opinions of Celebrities through Facebook. Goodness sake Celebrity and Facebook, you could hardly get a worse combination.
As for Pam, who really cares what she thinks or have you guys actually met and talked to her and formed an opinion of her as a conduit of respectable opinion, or even as a nice person.....or are you basing your opinions on her TV appearances????
Spank on in a friendly, loving, consensual and honest way.

This a long list and I will not ever post on every comment. Losers , we are not. Spanking has, and always will be a part of my life as many of yours. I am not an author. Do not have the talent. I do know I wanted to spank my 3rd grade teacher. at age 7. This before puberty. Enjoy who you are. No regrets.

Porn is a multi-billion dollar industry. It's around most probably since the first caveman with some skills draw a naked female (or male) on the wall. People made fortunes selling sex quite legally. Hugh Hefner and Bob Guccione come to mind.

Along the history time line plenty of people denounced porn and even consensual copulation behind closed doors as immoral or sinful. Sodomy - not long ago was punished with execration and prison in so said "civilized" countries and still is by death or/and flogging in large part of the not so "civilized" world.

Priests, Rabbis, Ministers, Ayatollahs and all sort of laymen preachers and dogooders were always against free enjoyment of our bodies in a consensual way. So, what's one more voice in a crowd (even from a pretty lady) calling names on people that enjoy sex in all its forms, including our harmless kink?

In the words of the immortal philosopher Alfred E. Neuman - "What, me worry?"

Do you consider her to be a talented actress though?

There's definitely a difference of degree, I'll concede, but I'm figuring that her career success was based primarily on her sex appeal...
