Ode to the LSF

I'm putting this up here because it's topical - Perhaps the librarians can re-shelve it in due course?


Ode to the LSF.

A parody of Friedrich Von Schiller's poem – only 2 verses and choruses instead of the nine of the original. Of course it should be sung with SATB, full choir and orchestra.


Spankers, Spankees, join together, praise the good old LSF.
A thousand days it has been open and it's star grows brighter yet.
Carved above the library's portal "Read lots. Write lots. Comment more"
Nearly twenty thousand items so that we are never bored.

Legite multum, multum scribite, recensete quam plurimum.
It's the finest inspiration when we go to smack a bum.


If you do not have a bottom which you are allowed to smack,
If your bottom's pale and virgin, never having had a whack.
If your days are filled up with spanking, if your bottom's always sore,
It's the place we all can gather it can make our spirits soar.


Read the stories, plays and poems, and don't forget the parodies.
They'll warm your heart if not your bottom. It's the finest library.

Good job...I love you including the idea if our real lives are not what we hoped or desire at least on the site one can find great enjoyment in the Library.

Nice work Ollie, and if I'm not mistaken Von Schiller's poem is the famous Ode to Joy famously set to music by Beethoven so you already have a tune for this. I think this should be adopted as the official library anthem to be sung on all official occasions, including Flopsybunny's Birthday and the Annual Spanking of the Non-commenters.

You're absolutely right Alan.
I tried to make the verses as pompous and anthemic as I could specifically for that purpose.

The ode is perfect, but personally I think Beethoven's fifth would be more appropriate for the Annual Spanking of Non-Commenters. For Flopsy's birthday, though, joy is quintessential!

Don't forget the Annual Non-Spanking of Non-Commenters Who Would Have Liked To Have Been Spanked.

I think there should be a National Day of Spanking in honour of flopsy's birthday

And everyone gets a day off work for cavorting and stuff

National?? Why not international?
