Well said, Elorac.

To all those writers who feel that they can't switch from M/F to F/M - read Elorac's Miss Simmons stories and see what a great job an M/F writer can make of the opposite coupling. They are superb.

I'm worried that you're right. I wrote an F/F story recently, to see if I could. I have no clue if it's any good. (I mean, I think it's okay, but I have no clue if F/F-lovers will like it or vomit upon reading it...)

Methinks you worry too much in this matter. It's mainly men who thrive from F/F I'd say, the same as F/F sex is an enormous seller in porn. For most I'd say that it matters little if it's an F, and M, a machine or a monkey doing the spanking, it's that red girl bottom we're after. If you write F/F it cannot fail.

"embarrassing yourself"

Well, not as much embarrassing myself as that I feel so strongly for this page that I don't want utter crap on it. I have no concept of what gets a F/M fan going, so chances are that I'd end up with something so sad that I'd scare people away and have people end their subscriptions and we don't want that, do we?

Just seeking clarification: does a transsexual count as M or F?

Well, it would certainly broaden the perspective and the options

Seems to me that could be the start of a story. An author is trying to write a story but ignires his muse's subtle hints. She decides to appear before him and use more traditional methods to get him to focus on his writing.

Elorac:
It would be a courtesy for us all to support the challenge, despite the fact that it is not our preference, unless reading against your choice is so distasteful, in which case, give it a miss. We need to support each other and be kind. Inspiration is a peculiar thing, and we need to follow it, so if it strikes, go for it, if it doesn't, wait until the time is right. Let's enjoy the diversity, live and let live, as long as it lies within the guidelines of the library and stays within acceptable limits.

Well, from the enthusiasm shown here, I think this will be one of the most well-attended challenges ever , but no, I'll pass on this one, to maintain the high quality of the entries I'll be back for the next M/F instead. I promise to try to read some of the entries though, who knows, I might discover something new about myself

Male to female would count as female ... but now that you've let the cat out of the bag, if you incorporate a transgendered person in your story, everyone will know you wrote it!

Merely from a reader perspective, i have read, voted and commented on all the challenges that have occurred during my time here.

Now the orientation of the challenge subject has often not been what i would choose to read, however i then find i focus more on the authorship skills shown within the story, and a little less on the tenderised derriere, though there gotta be good spanks to get my thanks.

Those authors who say they are not entering this challenge i say that's a pity, as the authorship skills of most here, in my opinion enables them to write a masterpiece in any orientation, if not entering then i thank you for your previous efforts, and look forward to future ones.

I hope non entering authors will read, vote and comment on this challenges entries, as your comments are informed and carry gravitas, which no doubt is valued by the story author.

From a reader viewpoint, comments from other authors on all stories here on LSF, do add a great deal to the comment section.

I remember last year when this challenge was issued. The forum exploded as well with negativity. Look, everyone has their preferences and I totally get if someone has little or no experience with something that is not their preference. The whole idea here is to 1) challenge & stretch one's writing/imaginative abilities 2) to have fun and 3) learn from each other. Now, it doesn't have to be in that order but why all the fuss. If F/M isn't your thing, fine. Simply don't read or write the submissions but to carry on as if the challenge personally threatens one's self-image or self-worth is some what over the top. I have written just about every type of CP story. Some people like them. Some do not. And some, this wonderful Library chooses not to have on it's "shelves." While a bit exasperating at times, I accept it and move on. So, if you choose to participate then that's great. If you choose not to, because of time restraints or lack of interest or simply because you're trying to get your own work finished; that's fine as well. We have enough problems in the real world without harping on divergent but similar tastes.
